What we do

From blank canvas to blooming prairie

Native Garden Design (via Zoom, email, phone calls, texts)

We build custom planting plans around your region's (or eco-type) native species — coneflowers, wild bergamot, little bluestem, and more — designed to thrive in your soils and unpredictable seasons.  Receive a comprehensive plan by providing property information & helpful resources & places to get the plants in your region.

Consulting

This can go a number of ways.  1.  We could do an on-line consultation, where you get a design layout of your project, plant selection & resources relevant to your location & project.   2.  We meet at your property to discuss your project & scope of work, get to meet each other & bounce ideas around.  I do a rough sketch of layout & plant types so you can install on your own time. 3.  We can go shopping to local nurseries & greenhouses for your plant selection & you will be guided on what your best option are, given the style, function & situation the plants will be growing in.  4.  We can lay the plants out for you so you know where they will work the best in your landscape & you plant them.

Installation & Care

The "we handle everything option" from soil prep, to the final plant which is personally shopped for best quality.  Then we offer seasonal care plans to keep your garden thriving year after year — with minimal intervention.      Receive an estimate (for a fee) that provides you with costs & a plant to take your garden to the next step.      Approve our estimate & provide a deposit (if over $5,000)  & you get on our calendar.     ***Respectful customer service:  We don't want to waste your time, nor ours.

Why native plants?

70% less water
than a traditional lawn

Better for your yard. Better for the Midwest.

Monarch butterfly on native wildflower

Midwest native plants — little bluestem, prairie dropseed, wild columbine, and rattlesnake master — evolved right here on the plains. They know our clay soils, our hot summers, and our freeze-thaw winters. That means less watering, zero fertilizer, and a yard that actually supports local birds, bees, and monarchs.

Pair them with natural limestone hardscaping and you get a yard that's as functional as it is beautiful — defined paths, terraced beds, and stone walls that hold the hillside while coneflowers and black-eyed Susans spill over the edges.

Neighbor reviews

Midwest homeowners love their new yards

"Land Fix completely transformed our front yard. We went from a patchy lawn we dreaded mowing to a garden full of color that practically takes care of itself. Our neighbors stop to ask about it every week."

Sarah M.

Brookside, KC

"I was nervous about going native — I thought it would look messy. Land Fix showed me how beautiful and intentional it could be. The design is stunning and the pollinators are incredible."

James & Lori T.

Waldo, KC

Stone & plants, together

Stone elements for finishing touches that belong

We use locally-sourced stone to build retaining walls, garden paths, and patios that frame your native plantings and give your yard structure that lasts for decades.

We provide stone options, colors & usages for that finishing touch & functionality.

2

Gardens that grow food

We can help layout your new vegetable beds using appropriate materials & installation practices.  Install  vegetable & herb gardens, berry patches & fruit trees as we have on our farm/homestead.

3

Rain gardens & grading

We use stone and grade changes to slow, spread, and sink stormwater — turning a drainage problem into a feature planted with native sedges and swamp milkweed.  Dry stream beds & drainage solutions are here for you!
